21.117—Issue of supplemental type certificates.

(a) An applicant is entitled to a supplemental type certificate if he meets the requirements of §§ 21.113 and 21.115.
(b) A supplemental type certificate consists of—
(1) The approval by the Administrator of a change in the type design of the product; and
(2) The type certificate previously issued for the product.

Effective Date Note: By Amdt. 21-92, 74 FR 53387, Oct. 16, 2009, § 21.117 was amended by removing the words “if he” from paragraph (a) and adding in their place the words “if the FAA finds that the applicant”, effective Apr. 14, 2010. The effective date of this amendment was subsequently postponed to Apr. 16, 2011 at 75 FR 9095, Mar. 1, 2010.
